Class Act - The People Behind the History

Class Act of Carlsbad is a non-profit organization created in 1989

for the sole purpose of saving lives on graduation night.

We're Getting Ready for the Class of 2011

The goal of Class Act is to provide a safe, alcohol- and drug-free environment for graduating high school seniors, their guests, and families. Each year has its own theme selected by the students and the Class Act board of directors. This all-night event is filled with games, fun, food, and other activities this year’s student advisory board suggested. The students can dance, play games, watch movies, or find a comfortable place to...um...rest their eyes.

Adult volunteers from the community spend hundreds of hours coordinating games and activities, decorating, collecting donations, and much more before graduation day. After the graduation ceremony, the volunteers chaperone the evening, act as Master of Ceremonies and Game Masters, and do their best to keep the party alive into the wee hours of the morning after graduation night. Safety is the primary focus for the Class Act. There are dozens of adult volunteers and law enforcement personnel from the City of Carlsbad Police Department, Eddy County Sheriff's Department, and private security ensuring everyone's wellbeing.

Class Act of Carlsbad is very grateful for the support of the community. The people, groups, and organizations make donations to Class Act enable the event to be entertaining and make a real impact on the life of a graduating senior. In addition to the fun prizes given away, Class Act awards scholarship funds to students meeting academic standards.

Now is your chance to make a real difference in the life of a graduating high school senior: Honor a Senior with a sponsorship, make a donation, or email us as to how you can help make it a happy graduation night for everyone.
